SUPER HIDDEN typically Melbourne bar in the style of a mid-20th century European American Bar. What does that mean? Small, cozy, beautifully crafted and quiet interior. Standing room only that can only fit about 15 people tops. No photos allowed. No music playing at all, so you can actually have a conversation with the people you're with. Curated limited drink list with friendly and knowledgable professional old school bar tenders. I recommend the freshly hand pressed orange juice for $5. Is also a cafe in the day. Open till 1am.

A cafe with brunch and burger options in the day and a bar at night. It also has a huge warehouse space in the back that is usually hosting a cool event like an exhibition or market. Open till 11pm.
Nihonshu Shochu & Sake Bar

Authentic Japanese Shochu (plum wine) and Sake bar. Great for if you're in the mood for something different than the usual alcohol offered at every other bar. Also serves Japanese style bar food like chicken on skewers. If you order a bottle of sake and can't finish it you can even leave it behind the bar with your name on it for next time. Open till 12am.

Smaller rooftop bar with great view of the city from the balcony and a bar food tapas menu. I didn't know it was Barcelona themed until I looked up the website for this list. Open till 11pm.
Rooftop Bar
Level 7 252 Swanston Street, Melbourne
$15 - $30
Larger rooftop bar with the usual beers, ciders, wines and spirits, but also Sangria and burgers. Great view of the city. It is also an outdoor rooftop cinema in summer. Don't bother with the elevator though, just take the stairs. Open till 1am.
